#ForTheLove: “Don’t Trip 2”

Happy Friday Lovers!

The weekend is here! I hope you lovers are ready to turn up this weekend with some very special people at the “Don’t Trip 2” concert, put together by The HYE. I bartended the last one which featured dope performances by Laya LaRoche`, Tribe Gvng and Dre Prince to name a few. Brands featured in the pop-up shop were The Yung Closet, B Wood, and Cliq’ue. To top the event off,  artists Marcus Allen, Goyart and Koten K had their exclusive art pieces which added the finishing touches to the Brooklyn warehouse.

This time around it’ll be in a secret location so if you’re exclusive enough to get that invite we shall be turning up together this Sunday September 18!!!!

“Matchmaker or Hater”

As a friend you never want to be labeled as a hater, especially when it comes to relationships. Sometimes you generally don’t feel as happy as you should for your friends, and you were the one who hooked them up together! You love the idea of matching those up together and seeing them in a new healthy relationship all thanks to you, so how are you now so sour about the whole situation?

He was your friend and she was your friend. You loved them both equally, before the initial “hook-up”. Doing things as a group was the best part, especially the random spontaneous weekend getaways.  They didn’t even know each other had existed if it wasn’t for you inviting one another out. You even knew they would get along because of their adventurous personalities. What you didn’t know was how things would change after they became “1”.

#ForTheLovers, this scenario would definitely come off as “hater”.  Outsiders looking in wouldn’t understand why you feel a way, since you were the one to match them up. You just want to have the relationship between them like it was before it became awkward. Simple things are now an issue, like picking up tabs, something your male friend always did for all the females. Now that one of the girls is his girl, she doesn’t feel it’s appropriate to carry on this way. You miss hanging out, taking silly selfies with all 3, basically being free. With this new relationship amongst the two of them, it seems like more restrictions for you.

As a matchmaker, you completely understand the boundaries in any relationship. Calling your male friend in the middle of the night to go to the local diner would be off limits now. But you still miss your road dog. A balance has to be worked out, but in this scenario, it might not be so successful. You sacrificed your friendship #ForTheLove. Happy for them as a friend is probably the only thing that’ll work, just make sure you are compensated for your perfect matchmade couple, things will look brighter then.
