Relationships by Tiy Hampton
As the season changes, so do relationship statuses. With fall and football ahead, the “cuffing season” applications have been drawn up and ready for submissions. Everyone knows during the summer it simply means single “S S”. It becomes too hot to lay up under someone, and too easily distracted with glistening sun kissed bodies. People change as the weather changes. Everyone now wants that warm body under them watching Sunday football, cuddling since winter is approaching. Trees lose their leaves, people gain spouses. Get Ready!
It’s uncertain when these unwritten rules of relationships began. One thing that is certain, the years go on and this ridiculous rule becomes more evident. From June 21 to December 21 relationships become frizzled with the heat frying the minds of the ones we once loved. Don’t worry, it only happens twice a year, spring and fall begins the spouse hunt.
You see it all time; your man begins staying out later with his friends because the weather is getting slightly warmer at night. Now your girl starts wearing those little shorts outside, when all year she claimed “oh I only wear these in the house babe”. Why all of a sudden the change? Blame it on the weather, the myth is true.
Your parents warned you, warm weather people don’t know how to act. Is it really the temperature that is the influence? I believe it’s the less clothes more skin mentality that catches us off guard. All winter the body is covered up, yet the increase in heat turns up these hidden bodies, wearing close to nothing in July.
Changing relationships when the seasons change is actually a poor excuse on both parties and not fair. Being in any relationship, comes with the agreement of commitment, there becomes an unwritten contract amongst each other which stated the two of you joined the relationship knowing what that title defined “Boyfriend/Girlfriend”. Since this isn’t a marriage that’s on the line, technically we are free to date as we please, right?
If filled out correctly, the cuffing season application can have outstanding results. Finding the right applicant can differ based on the individual. Are you ready for “Cuffing Season 2013”? Is your application drawn and ready to hit the streets?
