Final Impression

Kanye West “The College Dropout” was an amazing album. After listening to this album so many times I love its personality. Now I did hear most songs already on the album by radio but I like listening to the songs now with its siblings, the rest of the album to explain the story behind the songs. Kanye West was in a new place in his life and wanted the world to know, or whoever would listen to him. During the early 2000s Mr. West actually did drop out of college to pursue his music career. As cliché as that may sound it worked for him in a positive way because he achieved his dream without any degree, and that’s just what he wants society to understand. It is always society making us feel how we should live our lives, all his songs are just the supporting details in his essay I feel, explaining how it truly is okay to not follow what you are suppose to do and attend college in reality we know it is  not for everyone.  At the same time I want Kanye to understand it is not okay for him to promote the idea of dropping out of any school. Of course now in 2012 every job you see requires a bachelor’s degree, thing is it happens to be the same amount of money people was making years ago without any degree requirements. It would be interesting to asking sit Mr. West down to ask if the order of his songs on the album had any significance.  With his interludes throughout the album it is obvious he did want us to hear what was next.  Overall my mind hasn’t changed about the album from my initial impression.  I knew it was a remarkable album from the reviews I have always heard since it was released 8 years ago. A strong factor is to prove this album is still a top seller is the fact the price on iTunes! It is 9.99 which is sometimes the price of a album just released last week. Good Job Kanye, you get a 4 for the rating of this album.

  1. Tiy,

This is a nice final conclusion. I wish you would explain more about why you gave it a 4 even though you called it an “amazing album.” Also, while you wonder if the order of the songs had any significance why don’t you write what you think about the order. Did you like it? Did it tell a story? Did it work overall or only at certain times? And do you consider “College Dropout” Kanye condoning kids dropping out OR is it a label people probably gave Kanye and he embraced it — turning a negative term into a positive. Something to consider too is the titles of his next two albums, “Late Registration” and “Graduation.” How do those titles compare in comparison? Lastly, i think some sort of research would have really helped you explain your sentiments about the album better. Either way, good job and let’s keep improving for the next few assignments and blog posts. As i said before if you have any questions or need more help feel free to ask.
